Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

And then there was one...
Yes, we're unprotecting the game where it all began - Eye Of The Beholder, the first installment of the epic RPG trilogy. Evil lurks beneath your city in the fetid sewers and only you and your trusty band of fellow adventurers can save the day! Can you destroy the clanking skeletons who lurk below? Only time will tell...

A big thanks to Mika for providing us with both the game and review.

Amuse Me, Mutant
With an exceptional roster of powerful mutants like Wolverine, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Storm, Dazzler and Cyclops you don't want to miss this X-Men game. We already added X-Men 2: Fall of the Mutans a while ago, but now it's time for X-Men: Madness in Murderworld!

Besides controlling the six heroes I mentioned before, you get to enjoy 500 action and combat screens (at least that's what the advertisement uploaded by our member Geezer says) featuring Arcade's own amusement park, Murderworld. Judging by the name it's not a friendly place, and it isn't supposed to be, because that's where Magneto and Arcade are detaining Professor X.

esgmaster receives our gratitude and a nice amount of pieces of eight for writing the review and capturing the screens.

Destination: Old West
Join Fievel Mousekewitz in his quest to find his family and build his dreams on american soil, the land of the free and the brave. This is the reimagining of Steven Spielberg's animated films "An American Tail" as a PC game. Awaiting you is the stunning city of New York, and the dusty plains of the Old West. The story about a russian mouse who emigrated in USA is both unique and memorable, charming you forever, no matter if you're a child or an adult.

Today, with exclusive help from Dragom, the boxshots and the manual were added to the gamepage. If you want something different from the usual gritty, sober atmosphere surrounding a lot of Abandonia's games, here's a good option to take into consideration.

The Land of the Winds
In Storm Master, you play as a benevolent tyrant, who rules over the land of Eolia, which basically means "land of the winds". However, this is not the first time when the term is used to designate a realm. In Ancient Greece there was a historical region wearing the same name. Situated in Asia Minor, north of Ionia, bordered to the east by the Kingdom of Lydia and with its western shores washed by the warm waters of the Aegean Sea, Aeolia's main city was Smyrna (modern Izmir).

Certainly, the guys from Silmarils inspired themselves a bit from the ancient greeks' ways of managing their homeland, but with city names like Volgaatil, Xhuultil and Ozgaatil, I'd say the orcish language had a bigger influence on this game. Storm Master is a strategy that tasks you with managing your country, fighting at the same time in a unending war with the neighbour island of Sharkaania.

This was requested a long time ago, so here it is: you can now read the manual in the extras section. Additionally a scan of the floppy disk was added as a boxshot. Both files were supplied, by one of our Grand Magisters - munuainen.

Flaming Tanks in Moscow
19 years in the past, USSR, a KGB officer (that's you) uncovered a conspiration against General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev. You'll get to fight crime, corruption and your own organization this time. After those events, Perestroika's parting gift was the collapse of the "eastern behemoth", leading to the end of the Cold War.

Today's occasion was the addition of the manual for Cryo's adventure KGB (aka Conspiracy). Thanks comrade Greyfox Maquis.

Word Whiz of the Galaxy!
Time to put your English vocabulary to the test, no matter if you're born in United Kingdom or Azerbaidjan. One must master the most effective tool for the globalisation, in order to ultimately get at the top.

400 Questions are available in today's addition - Word Whiz. A barrel of grog to our friend Tomekk, who uploaded the archive for it.

The Lost Bloodline of Darkspyre
Everyone who previously played Event Horizon's Veil of Darkness and Dusk of the Gods, won't find a surprise here. The Summoning is the sequel to Darkspyre, featuring real-time dungeon-based role-playing gameplay viewed from a third-person perspective. |=u=|

Oh, you noblest sons of warring fathers, whose grandfathers and their wives fought side by side in ages past, follow me! Dishonor not these ancient and valued halls, whose stones lay stained by the blood of better men. They who died to build this kingdom were champions. They were of your kin and kind, and they need no introduction. But you, all of you, seem content to forget their sacrifice.

Because our manual is a version converted into .doc and it's quite impossible to squeeze anything but text out of it, Taaru made sure that nobody would have a reason to give up before actually trying it by uploading the Copy Protection Answers.

The Emerald of Persia
The Prince of Persia franchise has distanced itself a lot from the original concept of the 1990 classic. Both the trilogy, and the latest 2008 installment, while trying to preserve the fast-paced action and the character's slickness, they avoid some simple elements that made the game unique. This is definitely not a bad thing, as those titles attempt to keep everything fresh, otherwise the modern gamer will definitely get bored.

Still, us retro gamers crave for the "Forgotten Sands" we lost in the 90s, and it's quite obvious the newest PoP game (scheduled for summer 2010) isn't going to be exactly the thing we're looking for. Let's hope for a good game, though... The extras section has new stuff in it: the manual, uploaded by Lenor, and an image showing the Copy Protection Answers, by AzureDragon. Fireworks of PoEs for your efforts.

Yes, I Want To Be a Hero
New adventures await our hero in the faraway land of Mordavia. Undead armies are infesting the once peaceful and quiet country and it's your duty as the HERO to protect it. Obviously, the Dark One plans to plague this world once more, and there's only one way to stop him... Meet old enemies, make new allies, die in stupid ways, laugh at horrible innocent puns - play Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness.

Many of you should be already familiar with the newest game on Abandonia. It's a hybrid between adventure and role-playing elements, similarly to the previous titles in the series, placed in a setting inspired by Eastern European cultures and introducing a new combat system.

Our venerable reviewer Panthro has done it again, by providing a fine piece of text about this Sierra classic, and together with bobson, the one who provided the archive, will receive a real breathing Rusalka, uh, I meant real Russian borsch, spiced with PoEs.

Instead we will mass our armies and rage, rage against the dying of the light! And how do we do that? With Fantasy General of course! This massive hex-based strategy game allows you conquer great swathes of countryside with a wide variety of army units. Destroy your foes, collect various magical items and meet other heroes like yourself. So hop to it soldier, the world won't conquer itself!

Many thanks to TaloN for providing us with this game and the review.

Happy Valentine's drive... I mean day...
Remember this guy? I surely do. He used to chase me and was giving me tickets back in 1995 and 1996. I was managing to escape him in most of the situations, but he kept on chasing me. He was always there. If you saw him at least once, then you know what I'm talking about. Today's addition is the legendary game The Need for Speed, the very first in the series. After a long Valentine's day, choose your favorite sport's car and take a long slow drive with your beloved one... Or just go as fast as you can if that's what you feel. Happy driving!

Don Jonz's Virtual Adventure Vacation
Whoa! I won a well-deserved ticket to Eternam, the best vacation resort for legendary heroes like ME in the entire galaxy! Except, what in the hell are all these beasts with cold murderous eyes doing here...

Boxshots is the magical word again, and this time Dragom uploaded a nice pair of them for the cartoonish adventure, Eternam. You'll have to raise your macho powers to the full, though.
