Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name We are still doing our best to keep the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

KGB is not a very famous game, but it is quite compelling and interesting nonetheless. The story is set a few days before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and places you in the role of a KGB secret agent.

You start out in your office, where you get to know your not-so-friendly assistant and even-less-friendly boss. You are given a mission briefing and the length of time you have in which to carry it out, so everything starts out very quickly. There is no time to waste. You'll have to get going the moment the game starts and think of what to do on the way. The time limit makes the game a lot harder than it would normally be. However, the real-world setting adds a lot to the playability.

As opposed to most typical adventure games, this one has a first-person perspective. However unappealing this might seem, it actually gets pulled off quite well. It won't take long before you get completely used to it. The storyline is intriguing and will keep you glued to the screen for many hours.

I won't tell you much, just that it is about drugs, the Russian Mafia, and government conspiracy. That is more than enough to keep the missions diverse and interesting throughout the game. As a bonus, there are alternate solutions and outcomes to various puzzles which will affect the overall gameplay.

Viewed from a technical aspect, the graphics are nice, while the sound and music are satisfactory - no more, no less. They're nothing out of the ordinary, but just good enough so that I can't complain about them. Overall, a pretty good game and certainly worth a try.
