Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Let me take you right back...
Way back through the mists of time to a magical place where people wear flares, the rings of Jupiter have been photographed for the first time, and Sony has just released the infamous Walkman. Yes, it's the beginning of the 1980's, and we're here to play Space Invaders!

This game needs no introduction to you all I'm sure, but what you may not know is the story of how it came to be. Today, thanks to the wonderful Frodo, we bring you The Making Of Space Invaders. This booklet is now available for download right along with the game, so why not take a look back at gaming history today.

Who is the Batman?
Some new extras have been sent into the Abandonia HQ, details on Batman The Caped Crusader things that have been hidden away in the boxes of the criminally insane Ermuli and retrieved from them while he is locked away at Arkham Asylum. Some images of the games diskettes, a contest card, an ordering form and a registration form could any of these reveal to us who the Batman is?

A big thanks to Ermuli for giving us these images, great for the aspiring collector or the nostalgic fan to see what came with the game when it came out. Quickly go and check them out before Batman hides them again.

Abandoned Times Issue 2 is Here!

Our very own magazine marks a new milestone. After two years of hard work we bring you 65 pages of reviews, interviews and other articles that explore our beloved gaming past. We discuss the DOOM series: from the groundbreaking original of 1993 to Nerve Software's Resurrection of Evil of 2005. We discuss horror: from gory titles such as Elvira II to Noctropolis' dark superhero Darksheer and Turok's dino-filled jungles.

For the first time, the mag also features interviews. We invited Brandon Cobb, president of Super Fighter Team and Matt Barton, writer of two books on video games, to share their thoughts on interesting aspects of their activity. Also, if you decide to browse further, you'll find plenty of other interesting articles.

So hop over to our special Abandoned Times page, download Issue 2 of our mag and enjoy the pictures... err, I mean the articles. You can choose between the small PDF version (click on the cover) or the high-quality one (link above the cover). After you read it, it won't hurt if you leave us your impressions on the forums.

Have fun reading and congratulations to our AT team.

Get Down with Abandonia's New Music Site!
For a while now, Abandonia's music player, Abandonia Frequency, has allowed retro gamers like you to listen to many retro tunes, some of which come from such games as EcoQuest - The Search for Cetus, Colonization, and DreamWeb. However, it was never possible to download these awesome tunes to listen on your computer or put on your iDevice (i.e. iPod, iPhone, iPad) or other MP3 player.

As of today, however, you can now download all of the music from Abandonia's music collection at http://files.abandonia.com/music/? courtesy of the work of The Fifth Horseman. Besides being able to download awesome retro game music in MP3 format and, for some games, MOD and MIDI format, you're also able to preview any of the music files available for download. If you're interested, then why are you still reading this?!

UPDATE: You'll now find a permanent link to the new music site, labeled as Music, under the Services tab, which is found towards the top-right of the page. Kudos (or, rather, pieces of eight) to Dave for putting the link there!
