Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Docs: Planetfall
For five generations, your family has served the Stellar Patrol. Your great-great-grandfather was a High Admiral and one of the founding officers. It was taken for granted that when you came of age you would join up. Now, more than a year after signing in, and two months after being transferred to the S.P.S. Feinstein, you are still only ranked Ensign Seventh Class. Your superior officer, Ensign First Class Blather, has been making your life miserable. You're beginning to wonder if you're really cut out for the Stellar Patrol...

Docs: Stationfall
As a result of your heroics in Planetfall, you were offered, and quickly accepted, a juicy promotion. Good-bye Ensign Seventh Class -- hello Lieutenant First Class! No more scrubwork! No more bathroom details! No more cleaning grotch cages! Finally, your life in the Stellar Patrol would be as exciting as those brochures had promised! Oh, how naive you'd been. Your daily routine simply replaced tedious scrubwork with tedious paperwork. Five long years have dragged by, without a single event worthy of note. Why, just look at today's "thrilling" assignment: scooting over to Space Station Gamma-Delta-Gamma 777-G 59/59 Sector Alpha-Mu-79 to pick up a supply of Request for Stellar Patrol Issue Regulation Black Form Binders Request Form Forms...

Docs: Zork I - The Great Underground Empire
Many strange tales have been told of the fabulous treasure, exotic creatures, and diabolical puzzles in the Great Underground Empire. As an aspiring adventurer, you will undoubtedly want to locate these treasures and deposit them in your trophy case. You'd better equip yourself with a source of light (for the caverns are dark) and weapons (for some of the inhabitants are unfriendly - especially the thief, a skilled pickpocket and ruthless opponent).

Docs: Zork II - The Wizard of Frobozz
In Zork II, you will explore a long-hidden region of the Empire, a region dominated by the Wizard of Frobozz. The Wizard was once a respected Enchanter, but when his powers began to fade he was exiled by Lord Dimwit Flathead the Excessive. Now bordering on senility, the Wizard is still a force to be reckoned with. Your goal, as you venture into the Wizard's realm, is to avoid his capricious tricks and learn to control his magical powers.

Who would've known that a simple chemical factory leak can be so devastating?! Yes, it's up to you, as world's ugliest most handsome rabbit, to bring everything back to normal.

Program for Mac users - Boxer

We have added a new interesting program for Mac users!

Check our programs page clicking the picture or get it here:

http://www.boxerapp.com/

Boxer is the easy to use Macintosh equivalent of Dosbox, allowing Mac users to easily install and run the games here.
Boxer plays Ms-Dos games on your Mac. It is based on the robust DosBox emulator, with a lot of magic sprinkled on top.

Run DOS programs from Finder. Wrap your games into tidy packages that launch like Mac apps. Painlessly install games - you can even install from CD's or CD images - don’t struggle with mounts and emulation settings; don’t nurse a greedy games database; don’t bang your head against a DOS prompt; just play your games.
Boxer takes away the fuss and leaves the fun.

A big thank to the creator Alun Bestor and to Saccade for all the info ;)

Fighting For The Spell of Mastery

Build cities, raise armies, research spells and win the race for domination over all the other factions. Becoming the ultimate Master of Magic sounds like a simple task, but once you enter the two-dimensional world of Arcanum and Myrror you'll fight countless battles and you'll always be in search for lost knowledge, annihilating your opponents, one by one. At the end of a perilous journey there's always a gratifying reward, it just waits to be discovered: will it be a new gaming favourite, a deep strategical experience or just the feeling of victory?

You need to try this classic in order to see a daring attempt from the developers to change the direction in the strategy genre. It is one of the few strategies focusing on magic... Since I'm a gamer from the new generation, the first thing that came to mind was Age of Wonders. You should play this series too sometime after Master of Magic, if you haven't already.

And now, the reason why I've gathered you all today: we've finally added the Manual and the Spellbook released with the game. Don't hesitate to read them and remember to give ILikePie some of your magical scrolls, since he lost his precious time while offering us these documents.

Rabbit Messiah Goes International

The saying that game heroes will always be on a virtuous journey to help the ones in trouble seems true in every series. Imagine Pacman or Mario eating (and mindlessly hopping around) for an entire century, doing the same thing over and over again, without aging, just to entertain our boring lifes. Reminds me of the "life of an NPC" articles and videos...

So once again, Ninja Rabbit needs to save the world, this time by killing all the enemies in 3 different parts of the world: USA, Italy and China (or Japan?), thus becoming an International Ninja Rabbit. Enjoy the second title in the series! Thanks zirkoni for reviewing the two games. Golden pieces of eight await you in the frozen cellar.

Brain Malfunction

One part of the body requires the most training... While the heart can get over a tragedy in a month or a year and the legs can surpass their limits to run faster, or the hands can work together to create masterpieces, the lazyness of the brain may remain a scar for life, if ignored. I have no intention to frighten you all, because this game, even if it can be a bit morally exhausting, features puzzles for all kinds of people. You need to get past this impressive puzzlefest in order to retrieve Dr. Brain's battery.

So what has been added, you wonder? While playing The Island of Dr. Brain you can now admire a couple of insane boxshots, scanned by our exeptional contributor ultimaIX.

Riders of the Mark

Are you hero enough to ride with Gandalf, Aragorn and the other Fellowship characters against the armies of the traitorous wizard Saruman? If not then go away you coward, you're supposed to say yes. If you're a true JRR Tolkien fan, you have to absolutely play Riders of Rohan - one of Konami's old gems. Based on the second book in the trilogy, The Two Towers, in it you are given complete freedom, having the right to choose wether to follow or not the storyline, and diversity, by seeing different genres combined in one incredible package.

Rejoice then, for we have added boxshots and the Quick Reference Card for the game, gifted to us by Rider of the Mark LaFey. Thank him with your soul.

Here comes the new (old) challengers!

After a short pause, its time to do some unprotections again. Today's update is all about Street Fighting, with both games going up for download again. Shame they're not as good as the arcade versions, but fighting games arent the majority on PC-platform.

HADOUKEN!
