Here are the problems in the action genre regarding all that stuff except the release information and the content of the review.

From what I understand the correct size of the screens should be 320x200. I found many titles that have 320x240 screens. Generally they look bad, but in some cases you don't see the problems at the first glance. That's why I specified when the screen have this sizes. In all the other cases I wrote them as "bad screens".

AFAIK it needn't be a problem. What's important for site layout is width, and the planned (and forced) width is 320 pixel colums. Some DOS games are 320x200, others 640x400, others (quite recent ones) 640x480. The first ones are published as original, the other two sets are resized 0.5x0.5. You want to keep the original aspect ratio, not to stretch the images, that's why the 640x400 ones end up at 320x200 and 640x480 at 320x240.

Every resizing that is not an enlargement following a relation of integer numbers need imply signal loss. So of course images resized from 640x480 into 320x240 don't look as good as the original game, but neither do ones resized from 640x400 into 320x200. Original 320x200 ones from older games are shown here in all their pixelated glory.

Note down images only if they're noisy (very blurry, in JPEG format, image file not 320 pixels wide --check by right-clicking on the image and selecting "properties" even if shown like that in the page).

Yes, 320x240 is a bit of a nuisance. I personally would have added code to detect the difference since it wouldn't matter for the review page whether some screenshots are taller - it's the width that is limited and since 320x200 and 320x240 has the same width, it's no problem.

Hmmm, I thought they were both limited, the width and the height. Good thing I didn't took them into account when checking up the adventure list.

I'll clean the list in a moment.

They are limited when viewing them since the images get scaled but it would be cool if the screenshots were increased in height when needed.

I don't really think it'll be hard to do that, once the site problem will be resolved. If it will be resolved, that is.

Also, I know this isn't the right thread to ask, but why is Double Dragon 1 still a "no go" game, when for example DD2 and DD3 are available for download. Also when I saw the list of games on site but no go, it said it's approved.

English language version?
It appears the translations report the status of some games incorrectly.

It's because DD was thought to be sold at CDAccess.com. And the list is the phase between it's no go and it's available for download.

Found on more problem in the action genre:
http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/15...ne+Ranger.html - more than 10 must try games

How do you deal with companies that have more than one name through their history?

I'm unsure about the actual consensus, I myself would use the name the company had at the time of the game. Like for example Apogee instead of 3D Realms (as in the Wolfenstein 3D review on site).
