By editing "DOSBox 0.74 Options.bat" you ARE editing the ".conf" file!

I guess that:

Start menu -> all programs -> dosbox 0.74 -> options -> dosbox 0.74 options

Is too complicated for you to open/edit the dosbox conf file ...... ???????
