Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Gold Rush

Even though Sierra made Gold Rush back in 1988, it’s still a classic I really wish they’d make a sequel to. The storyline is fresh and interesting and seems like a Monkey Island in the Old West or even an older version of Sierra's later western game, Freddy Pharkas.

Dune

You are probably wondering why this predecessor to the world-famous Dune 2 is placed under the Adventure heading. Well, for starters, this game's concept is completely different from that of Dune 2.

Denarius Avaricius Sextus

Everybody that's been interested in games from back in the days knows the biggest names in adventure games. The series by Sierra, the games from Lucasarts, and some even know the Hugo trilogy, but who remembers the Avvy series by Thorsoft? They weren't as big back in the days, but that doesn't mean they can't compete with them.

Death Gate

Based upon the stories of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Legend Entertainment made a game entitled Death Gate.

Magic is based upon possibilities. The possibility always exists that reality IS a certain way. Imagine that a stone wall blocks your path. There is a possibility that a door exists in that wall. A wizard bends this possibility into reality until the door appears. All spells work that way.

Big Red Adventure, The

After the fall of communism Russia became a changed country. A country open to tourism and westernization. But there is a man there called Doctor Virago, who wants to make things just he way they were. And guess what, you’ll find your path cross his plans.

Once again you’re Doug Nuts, an international thief. As The Big Red Adventure is a follow up of Nippon Safes, Inc.

Bargon Attack

I'm sure a lot of you will never have heard of Bargon Attack before which doesn't come as too big a surprise though, because this game isn’t very brilliant, sadly enough. Compared to Coktel Vision's other adventure game, this one really scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

Amazon - Guardians of Eden

Imagine my surprise when I first played this game (only a few days ago) and realized it would easily stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the classic adventure games.

Altered Destiny

The early '90 of the last century it was fashion to release a lot of adventure titles. In 1990, Accolade, Following the example of Sierra -which released Kings Quest V among others that year- decided to release a couple of adventure games: "Les Manley", "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark" and "Altered Destiny". The following lines come from an advertisement for this last game (courtesy of Mobygames.com):

4-D Sports Boxing

4D Sports Boxing is not a very pretty game (actually more along the lines of ugly) but it gets under your skin somehow. It's because of some fun and interesting features. First of all, you can create your boxer. This can be fun, as they look so horrible; you can get a kick just out of creating a short fat boxer with pink underpants.

10th Frame

Similar to golf and dart games, computerized bowling never really captured the true charm of the game in real life. Still, it is always fun enough to play and hack of a lot easier than in real life.

Spirit of Excalibur

Somewhere around 800 A.D. there supposedly lived a legendary king - King Arthur. His power to rule his realm came from the sword Excalibur that Arthur got from the lake and tossed it back to the lake after he was slain.
