Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still doing our best to keep the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

It's quite common for a sequel to give us more than its predecessor. In the Gobliiins series, this quality increase is also noticeable. Let's talk about the Coktel Vision game called Goblins Quest 3.

If you are a fan of this series, you probably already know that the number of 'I' letters in the title is also the number of main characters in the actual game. In Goblins 3, there is only one 'I', and therefore only one main character. But don't feel lonely yet.

Blount (that's the name of the protagonist), a brave reporter, travels to the country of Foliander to meet King Bood and Queen Xina. In the beginning, his flying ship is being bombarded and this is where your help (and the puzzles) begin. You'll soon find that many things are difficult to accomplish with only one person, but (as mentioned above) don't worry. Your first companion, Chump the parrot, is waiting to be rescued.

Later in the game, Blount will meet more friends, and not all are animals. Many of these creatures will be his sidekicks, and available to be controlled by you, dear player.

Just like in previous games in the series, this one is divided into screens consisting of puzzles, and (as in the second version) some are combined together to create more difficult challenges, or a different place in Foliander which is important to the plot (especially the love thread). Ok, no more spoilers... or maybe just one more. Do you like werewolves? I hope you do!

The screens are also a lot bigger than before. Each one is scrollable, giving us more places to discover and look for clues, items, puzzles, and solutions for the latter. The graphics are still in the same style as the previous games. Pierre Gilhodes filled all these colorful and joyful sceneries with his art, but this time they are more detailed and slightly better filled with interactive elements.

Some screens allow you to modify them a little (when you change the color of the light in one stage, different items will be shown), and some of them can be considered special. In these special parts of the game you don't have a controllable character, only a couple of hands (one can select and use all the stuff from your inventory, while the other can manipulate the mechanisms).

Goblins 3 also has more expansions to the gameplay. In each stage you'll notice a new page in the "Goblin News" - a newspaper full of articles written by Blount. And on every screen you can see exactly what the aim of that screen is. It's often a big help if you are stuck, since you don't need to think what to do, but how to do it. The puzzles sometimes are illogical, but that is a drawback of the entire series.

The game has been released in two versions: The smaller one consisting of animated pictures as cut-scenes and goblin gibberish (my favorite sounds) as speech, and a larger CD edition containing full speech and animated videos.

The last (but not the least) thing is the humor. This part of the Gobliiins saga does not change - it's still there and your face should have a smile during the entire game. Animations shown when things go wrong (and sometimes when they go as planned) are the best of the whole series. And most importantly, there are a lot more characters in the game, so you won't get bored by them. Each one has something new to show.

If you didn't know who the Gobliiins were before reading this review, click the DOWNLOAD button now and start playing - you will not regret it. If you have already met these little creatures, I don't need to tell you how good this game is.
