Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still doing our best to keep the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Wear the boots of the journalist Henry Morton Stanley and set off for the dangerous, beautiful and exotic world of Africa trying to find the missing explorer, the famous Dr. David Livingstone. This is a historical plot from the 19th century of the one of the best platform games ever made.

Livingstone, I Presume? is a unique game that left the competition way behind. The game is described as a 2D action-adventure of a platform style. It may sound like to many genres in one game, but it really takes a bit of them all. A large world with interesting puzzles and features and a lot of trouble is combined with a very interesting gameplay, actually the unique gameplay to be precise. This gameplay makes all this possible and makes the game far more interesting than other "jump and shoot" platforms.

You have three different weapons and a pole for longer and higher jumps. Combining all this gives you a large possibility of actions. Use the boomerang for targets above you, knives for targets in front of you and bombs for targets beneath you. Change weapons using number buttons 1-4. Hold Fire button (Space) to reach the power of throwing/jumping and let go when you think it's enough. Use Q,A,O,P for movement. You must fight your way through, pick up various objects and eventually find and rescue Dr. Livingstone.

This game is very much like Goody which was also created by Opera Soft only with many improvements. Surprisingly the PC version is not much worse than others. Technically it is worse considering the CGA graphics and only PC speakers supported, but the gameplay and the world are identical to other versions. Still, although it's CGA, graphics are very detailed. Naturally EGA graphics could and music would leave an even better impression but the game has all those features that made it a legend.
