Thumbs up PeaceMaker

This is undoubtedly the best political simulation for the MiddleEast, if not altogether, I've yet encountered.

You play twp similar games, one as the Israelite Prime Minister and the other as the Palestinian President. The game includes authentic images & news report videos and is played at the Middle Eastern map. There is only one goal in the game - peace. As the Jewish leader, your task is to forge a functional balancd Jewish-Arab multi-ethnic society as a duel state, while as the Palestinian, your task is to build up a strong and independent recognized Palestinian state with considerable appeal.

There is no surreal micromanagement or things not very correspondive to your role. Your deceisons are limited exclusively to the ones your position has, in a very realistic manner - the entire game really gives off the sense of pure realism.

I managed to build up Palestine on low and medium conflict levels, while forge ever-lasting peace as Israel's head of state only on low thusfar. If anyone likes political simulations, especially those realistic and those with an impressive message such as this one - you gotta try it out!

More info, please. Is it being sold? Is it abandonware? Is it indie? Is it... a videogame? I want to know.

Right

Yes, it is being sold. I heard it can be played online however, and it was indeed so announced when it was released for the first time, although I've myself never found where.

Of course it's a video game. But it's so realistic it actually borders on being an ordinary video game - but still has all the fun of one. I've found after some time the game a bit easy, playing as the Palestinian. The Israelite is the difficult thing for me. Perhaps the game is far too short (or it seemed to, because it is so darn wonderful).

As one that live in Israel, I can say it doesn't really capture the true complexity of the situation.

I still think the best simulation of a nation was Hidden Agenda, and that's freeware (with a little note to the author). When I spoke with him about 3 years ago he said that he'd proposed shortly after HA proved a hit a second release on the MidEast, but was turned down by various companies. They didn't think it would sell.
