Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.
SimCity 2000 is an amazing game, from whichever perspective you choose. City model, graphics, gameplay. Whichever topic comes to your mind, SimCity 2000 will have it covered brilliantly.
Let us start with the actual game concept. At the beginning, you are given a piece of land and some cash. Using those two resources, you will have to do your best to create a small town with the entire necessary infrastructure so that it can function on its own. Then, as time passes and you get some money out of taxes, industries and commercial zones, you will probably decide to expand or increase the quality of life in the existing city.
The choices are up to you really. You could have a huge town that's in a mess, or you can build a small, beautiful and peaceful town. Building a big town that is functioning without too many problems will be a task that is more challenging than you think. You will have to make compromises all the time. Determine what are the most necessary and important things that need to be done, which should be taken care of right away or later and so on. If city mayors really had to go through all that, they would probably be clinically insane. As time passes you will also gain new construction facilities and monuments to build. You can also connect your city to the surrounding ones (run by the computer).
SimCity is a game that will be challenging to you even after you played it a thousand times. That is why it’s invaluable in the gaming world.
As for the graphics, as I mentioned at the beginning of the review, they are simply amazing. The screen resolution will stretch to amazing 640x480 (this is a DOS game, remember?) that will give you unseen detail. All the buildings and scenery are drawn very nicely so you will enjoy just by sitting back and watching your city come to life. The learning curve is pretty steep so if you're playing it for the first time, have patience. It will pay off in the end.
I think I've made my point – 5 mark, without a doubt!
no download Posted on: 2013-06-08 by havoc164 The real game is fantastic for what I remember. However I will never know because whatever jerk that runs this site can't be bothered to put a real download button for it up. |
I think I worked out how to download it. Posted on: 2013-05-16 by fguy95-2 I clicked the little icon next to the picture. |
