OutRun has always been one of my favourite childhood games. I used to spend so much time with this gem when I was younger, from the early arcade machine days to the day I finally got it installed on my 486 machine. If you haven't played this game, you have lost out on an important piece of the gaming history.
You are competing in a race where the goal is simple: reach the end of the track before the time runs out. You have unlimited lives to achieve this, but that timer doesn't allow for many mistakes. When you reach the end of the current track, it branches out, and you have to choose which track you want to drive next. This means that you can take different paths to the goal, and all the roads have different scenery and track-surface.
To make life miserable on the road, there are of course other vehicles. Maneuvering between these on tight roads can be very challenging at times, especially as you have to do it quickly.
The music in the game is classic, and you can choose one out of three themes to listen to. And there is nothing bad to say about the graphic or gameplay. Even 17 years after its release, this game is awesome. A must have!
