Story:
This is a point and click adventure game made by Pendulo Studios in 1994. You play Igor, a student at school. You desperately want a date with the girl of your dreams, Laura. Unfortunately, it seems that your rival, Phillip has more chance with her.
The Biology class is going on a school trip to the tropical island of Uikokahonia. This seems like the perfect opportunity to get close to Laura, it's just a pity you are not in the Biology class. You must find a way to get accepted into the Biology trip. Of course, you also need to pay for the trip somehow.
Through your efforts to get onto the trip, you find yourself caught up in an evil plan regarding smugglers. You must find a way to stop them.
The game has a humourus story, and Igor comes out with some funny comments.
Gameplay:
This is a nice easy game to play. It uses a point and click system similar to the old Lucas Arts games. There are words along the bottom of the screen (talk, take, look, use etc) that you can click on to tell your character what to do. If you want to talk to Phillip, click on 'Talk', and then click on Phillip. To move, just click on an area of the screen and Igor will move there. Your inventory items are shown along the bottom as well, and you can scroll up or down to see more items.
I must warn you, there is a HORRIBLE maze in the church. I have made a map, and included it as a separate file.
Press the space bar to bring up the options menu. This allows you to save and load your game, as well as quit the game.
Graphics:
The graphics are very much in the style of old Lucas Arts games. Think of Monkey Island, or Indiana Jones and the Fate Of Atlantis. They are nice and colourful, and draw you in to the game. However, some items are hard to make out from the background, and some pixel hunting is required.
Music and sound effects:
The music is cheerful and inspiring. It keeps you interested in the game. The sound effects are also a nice touch. You can hear birds chirping in the background, or the waterfall by the stream.
Characters:
There are a quite a few humourus characters in this game that you will meet. Some are a help and some are a hindrance.
Puzzles:
Some of the puzzles are quite tricky and illogical, while other puzzles are very easy. Try everything with anything, to see what results you get.
Summary:
This is a nice, fun game that any Lucas Arts fan will enjoy. Boy wants girl, then finds he has to stop the criminals. The story has lots of humour, and the music is very inspiring. The pixel hunting is slightly frustrating, and some people will find the church maze very annoying. Overall, this is a nice game worth playing.
