Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

There are many fighting games out there. Some are great (like Mortal Kombat) and others are crap (like 3D World Boxing). Tough Guy is somewhere in between.

It’s a standard fighting games and reminds me a lot of Street Fighter II. The intro is excellent I think, although the music could have been better, but after that the game falls into mediocrity. You get to select the type of battle (hard battle, versus mode or tournament) and then you get to fight.

You have a fairly decent selection of fighters. Each one of them is somewhat unique (like a teenaged Romanian gymnast girl). Every fighter also has some unique moves in addition to the standard ones.

The fighting itself could run somewhat smoother and the flashing bursts of energy that show up when an opponent is hit are really just a nuisance. The sound during the fight is nice though. After that match every fighter has a little celebration dance (if that’s what you should call it) and those are quite fun.

The best thing, however, is the 2 player option (beating the crap out of your friends is always fun).

Unfortunately this game was made in Eastern Asia and the setup is in the native language. This means that most of you will probably be unable to read the instructions. The first and the second line configure the soundcard. The third line defines the input device. You can play with a joystick (there are obviously two 2 button and one 4 button joystick options) or you can configure the keyboard (that’s the 4th line in the submenu). Here are the pre-set keys (if you wanna change them, just see what they do in the first place).

Ply 1: E = up+left; R = up; T = up+right; D = left; G = right; C = down+left; V = down; B = down+right; W, S, Q and A are used for punches and kicks.

Ply 2: To move simply use the numeric part of the keyboard (number from 1 to 9 without 5). For punches and kicks use HOME, PAGE UP, END and PAGE DOWN.
