This game is definitely aimed at the youngest players. It’s a sort of a letter/word puzzle game with some action.
The game is based on the lovable Daffy Duck who (among his other talents) was also a private eye (Duck Tracy). This time he’s looking for letters.
The game features nice animations in 16 color EGA graphics and some sounds. The action bit isn’t really that hard (neither are the puzzles for that matter), but all in all it’s quite fun. The game was meant to be a learning program, helping children how to spell, but unlike many other learning programs, this one didn’t neglect the component of fun.
You’ll need to follow the trail of the missing letters solving little puzzles on the way and getting bonus levels (where you need to create as many words as possible from given letters).
All in all this game is a somewhat pleasant attempt of edutainment. I think it deserves at least a three and I (as a teacher) do recommend it to people who wish to improve their spelling.
It’s at the complete beginner level true, but reading through some posts I think many people would really need to learn how to spell. I’m thinking especially of the 1337 talkers here.
