Dear Abandonia visitors: We are a small team that runs one of the largest DOS Games websites in the world. We have only 3 members of staff, but serve 450,000 users and have outgoing costs like any other top site for example: our servers, power, rent, programs, and staff. Abandonia is something special. It is a library of old games for you to download. It is like an old gaming arcade with all the old games in their original format. Abandonia is a place where you can find great old games and have fun four hours and years. To protect our independence, we are dependent of our friends using the site. We run on donations averaging around 6 USD (5 Euro). If everyone reading this gave the price of a cup of coffee, our fundraiser would be made easier. If Abandonia is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online for another year. Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still doing our best to keep the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

‐ Thank you from the Abandonia Team

We are trying to make it easy for people in every country to donate. Please let us know how we could make it easier for you.

Please give whatever you can to help us.

Never heard of Klax? Well I hadn't either. Until recently, that is. I discovered a remake of it and gave it a go. It's a fun little game. I was surprised that such simple and addictive games were still being made (I didn't know it was a remake at that point), so I checked up on the game. Then I found this original (I knew it; it's a game from the good old days).

So what kind of a game is it?
As you can see from the screenshots, the game is very colorful, although it has only sixteen colors. As for the sound, there's about as much of it as you can hear from the screenshots (that's right, the game basically has no real sound).
And just what makes it so fun?
You control a grey panel and must catch colored squares that are flip-flopping towards you on the table. If you miss a square, you lose a life. After you catch a square, you must flip it to one of the five slots. Once you make a straight line of three squares (that's a klax), those squares disappear. You must get a certain number of klaxes to progress to the next level.
Sounds easy, but trust me, it's not.

This game is yet another testament to pure computerized fun, without any plot or fancy graphics. Its gameplay is fun, yet I've seen and played much better games. You'll enjoy Klax for a while and will probably run it every now and again for a quick game or two, but no more than that. I'll give this game a 3. It's fun to play, but it won't have you hooked!
