Dear Abandonia visitors: Help us keep Abandonia free with a small donation. Abandonia is like an old gaming arcade with only original games. Abandonia helps you have fun four hours and years. If Abandonia is useful to you, please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia.

When Abandonia was founded it was to collect and present all old games where the copyright protection had been abandoned, hence the term ’abandonware’ and the site name Abandonia.com. We are still keeping the site open and free and will appreciate your support to help it stay that way.

Dynamix made a very solid motocross game which however seems like one big commercial for Suzuki (after all, the alternative game title is Suzuki’s 250PM Motocross). Still there’s nothing wrong with it, but that’s why you’ll see (apart from Dynamix and Gamestar logos) many Suzuki logos all over the game.

But the game itself is, as I already said very solid. The graphics are simply excellent, considering the year of the release (1989). The graphics are colorful, smooth and often you get a screen in screen detailing the action (like the staling of the engine and restarting it). OK, the sounds are less impressive, but they do a well enough, not to make you desperately look for the power button on your speakers while you play. The controls are a bit tricky though. I could only play the game with the joystick, so if you don’t have one, I don’t know how to help you. I guess there ought to be a way, but I admit, I haven’t bothered to find out, since I didn’t have to (have a joystick, will have joy with the stick).

And what about the gameplay?

Yes, it’s a typical racing game, with different difficulty levels, other drivers, practice options, competing, trying to get the title in the end… but it’s not all about driving. Before racing you get to see the course and you can set a few things on your bike. You can adjust the forks, tire pressure etc. Then it’s off to ridding hard, with many bumps on the way and many jumps ahead of you. Make sure you’re kind to your bike, or it will let you down when you least expect it.

All in all the game feels like it’s a crossover between Street Rod, Stunt Car Racer, 4X4 Off-Road Racing and Grand Prix 500 II. Needless to say, I recommend all of the mentioned games as well.
