Cavedog Entertainment profile
Cavedog Entertainment was founded in 1995 by Ron Gilbert and Shelley Day as a sister company to Humoungous Entertainment, purchased in 1996 by GT Interactive. Cavedog released only titles placed in the Total Annihilation franchise, receiving a lot of praise and awards from game critics and gamers. After the mastermind behind the series, Chris Taylor, left to found his own company, Gas Powered Games, they released one more game - the unsuccessful Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, leaving three titles unpublished. In 2000 Humoungous closed the label to focus on developing games for kids.
