![]() I would love to be able find all the games that run under a certain compatibility mode. Is that possible? In other words, it would be cool to view all the games that run under Windows XP.
Just a thought. -- ThreePea |

![]() Well every game has the compatibility icon, but you'd have to look at the games seperately.
I know this may sound a bit rude, but I really think you should learn how to use DOSBox. It's not that hard (just take about an hour to really go through it) and all the games on the site will work. It's really worth it - DOSBox may require a little initial thinking, but it's not very difficult, just don't let the non-clicking screens where you need to type something that makes no sense at first scare you off. |

![]() We are definately going to add that search funtion/listing function to the new site layout (when we get 'round to it).
But I totally agree with Seb. Try to learn DOSBox, it's not that hard.

And I have had DOSBox up and running succesfully. At one time I was very heavy into the emulation scene - Amiga, C64, MAME, DOS, you name it. But no matter how "easy" and technologically advanced the emulation is, there is always time and effort involved in not only the initial setup of the emulator, but often with each new game. I'm at a time in my life with four small kids that I simply don't have the time or inclination to deal with that anymore, no matter how easy it is. It's just a personal choice at the moment to stick with games that work in the native os. But since I have been around so long I do like to find those occasional old-time treasure that still works in XP. Thanks. (Sorry it took so long to reply, I forgot I had even posted here) -- 3P |

![]() The oldest (1991 & older) titles usually work.
And, as you know, you can get more running through VDMS. But that's about it. |

![]() If you want games which run with WinXP, buy newer games and you will be sure they work?

![]() How about reading the guys post eh? Obviously he wants to see what old games he can run on Win XP, because he hasn't got time for DOSBox...
I would also suggest trying drag & drop in DOSBox, since that's pretty fast, and some games might work without addtional calibration...

![]() I've read his post. Mine was to point out that basically no old games are fully compatible with Windows XP. :bleh:

![]() Hey guys,
Thanks for the input. I understand old games aren't designed to run in XP, and I understand DosBox is easy. We're all on the same page. To each his own, and it should be ok with everyone if I am not inclined to try Dosbox at this time - it's not an insult to Dosbox, or old games, or Abandonia. It was just a simple question, which has been answered. Thanks. -- 3P |
