Sequels suck don't they? I've noticed how much they suck when I bought the new Audioslave cd, I liked the first cd better, Audioslave just took my money. Also, I cant believe that halo 2 sold so well, it sucked. I bet the people just bought it thinking that it'd be good, but it wasn't. Remember the first jurassic park movie, it was golden, something we have never seen before. then the lost world came, it was great, but it still couldn't beat the first. Then jurassic park 3 came, it sucked. But just becuase some sequels sucked, doesnt mean they all do, only most of them. I praise the series where the sequels are just as good or better then the one before it. Grand Theft Auto is one of those that live to be better sequels. My most favorite band, System of a Down, all their cds just got better, but it didn't leave the first cds in the dust. game consoles are living up to being better, sadly the games arent. But instead of sequels, wouldn't you admire the original where the idea first came and where it all started? I know I would.

What about Austin Powers 2? The first was good but the second still beat it to a pulp. Also see Fallout 2.

Hmm that's a moronic sweeping statement if ever I read one...

Some sequels are better.

You know if that statement didn't have periodes at the end of each sentance I would have mistaken it for stream of consciousness straight out of james Joyce's Ulysses... or something Stewie from Family Guy would rant.
You start off with a title and a piece of text writing sequels down as bad, but you immediately correct yourself by saying other sequals are good or even better. What the hell was this all about!?

Bought Unreal 2 yesturday, and it kicks Unreals behind pretty firmly.

You think so? Most disagree... I am impartial since I hardly remember what Unreal was like (just waking up in the prisonship and the rest of the first few levels) and the small fragments I did remember were probably jaded with feelings of nostalgia since Unreal was the first game I played using a 3d card.

Concerning movies, I'm more of a plot fan, and action movies aren't really my type. It ranges from romantic dramas to psychological thrillers, but most of them have an end (main character dies/finishes his quest). One movie managed to surprise me with it's come back though: "Before Sunset". For those that watched "Before Sunrise" and remember the chemistry and intensity between the 2 characters, it's surprising that in the second movie (after 9 years, both in screen and life) all those elements are still there. And the end even tops the first one, which was already very good. Certainly one of the top ten ever movie ends, for those that like not sappy romantic stories where the characters spend most of the time talking about life and psychology, then there's a movie right up your alley.

Other nice sequels:
Die Hard 3

Games:
Doom 2
Dune 2
Civilization 2

And of course:
Matrix Revolutions
Kill Bill 2

I haven't seen those 2, but it's impossible to make anything worse than Matrix Reloaded and Kill Bill 1. :w00t:

I don't really think you call a second audio cd a sequel..but anyways..

Some others (possibly mentioned already..I skimmed the others listed)

Spider-Man 2 (Movie and Game)
Baldur's Gate 2
Fallout 2
Dark Forces 2
All the old Sierra quests...you can pick the sequel you thought was best for each series.
SimCity - Pick a sequel
X-Men 2

That's just to name a few...
