Does anyone know where my tilde (~) has gone in DOSBox!? No problem in ordinary Windows it is in right place as on keyboard but trying to make long filename ("name~1") in DOSBox produces different symbol on that key Thanks Jo |

Why don't you just create a folder with a short name and make folders in it for the Dos-games with short names? Short names in Dos consist of 8 letters + 3 ending letters max. Much more simply than creating the long names and after that trying to get them into DosBox. Than you never would need to worry about the long names again.

To answer your original question, Jo: Alt+126 should do the trick. But it'll probably be easier just to use shorter file names, like Gamefreak suggested.

Dosbox .063 implemented a new keyboard layout. Keyboard layout which I recall perfectly from the english version of the good old DOS. It's really the opposite for me; I always curse the new keyboard(s) (most of the time stupid) layout in comparison to the one DOSBox 0.63 have.
You can have the ~ by using shift on the button just left of the 1 to the top left of your keyboard. On my current keyboard layout under Windows I need to use ALT-CTRL+ a key I normally use for French accents... :not_ok: |
