The interface has been streamlined from part 2 onward, the first game is still a little clunky, especially combat. The outstanding graphics and that certain "french charm" of the game still make it worthwhile to play though.

That game was a favourite from my childhood. Got hold of a copy recently to relive old memories. Really dissapointed. I don't remember it being so jilty and what's up with the gameplay? Seems almost impossible to ever restore your characters to full health after they've had a rumble, they're forever on the brink of death. Unless I'm doing something seriously wrong...

Get a healer, or potions? Not sure if endurance was implemented in part 1 already, but if so you have to rest quite often after fights, else your characters will be very weak.

Dumb and frustrating game. If you want to play a quality 1st person RPG with even better graphics download TES Arena.

It's the only part of the trilogy I never played... somehow I couldn't get myself to it... I think there were some more reasons to that than the fact that your position wasn't marked on the map, but that one was surely a nail to the coffin. I completed the other two Ishars, though, so maybe I'll give it a try... again...
