![]() Please feel free to delete this thread after reading it. I contemplated sending a PM but after some thought, realized there was no reason this should not be a public letter.
I really appreciate the new ban/unban forum. I enjoy being a member of this forum and like to see what other people are doing to get banned so I can avoid such a fate. However, the rules are pretty clear I find and I have read them several times. So my main reason for wanting to know is pure gossiping/ nosiness/ <s>informing the CIA</s>. Unfortunately, with no access granted to post there (at least not for this lowly member) several questions will go unanswered or addressed in places they do not belong. For instance... what caused Kon-Tiki's initial banning? I realized he was banned for the sockpuppet accounts but what caused the first chatbox ban? I realize you are probably pretty busy. It is unfair for you to have to create a thread for every nincompoop who decides to get banned. So I would like to point out also that instead of providing the full quote from the forum rules, perhaps just the particulars would be better. For instance: Quote:
-Yoshi

![]() Kon-Tiki was first banned, if my memory serve right, because he was an admin/updater at the time and he abused the power entrusted to him by deleting a fair amount of files directly at the server when an issue went in an opposite direction than his liking.
It was already a very fair decision not to ban him outright when he decided to make his come back... And all he did was raise trouble. The decision to ban him was left to Data (or Titan?), and with the previous paragraph I guess that you understand why those veteran admins didn't take long to push the red button. I fail to understand why there is even a need for an explanation here. Not everything going in the mod/admin forums need to be known by "normal" users... It only create more drama, something I believe a lot of people said they would want to see greatly reduced as of late... |

![]() but his second account wasn't banned for the first case, he got second chance. i also think his ban is unfair and he didn't bring trouble. the only one who brought trouble who made a big thing out of this, OMG HE HAZ ANOTHER NAME BAN BAN BAN. it would provocate me as well
and you know anybody can make as much accounts from different ips and mailhosts and you wouldn't even know

![]() Tiki used to be a moderator and site updater.
However, some time around late 2005/early 2006, there was a series of altercations between several long-time community members and the administrative staff. Tiki, Sebatianos and Anubis (the last of whom has since been allowed back under a different username) were banned as a consequence. That wasn't the end of story, as Kosta decided to let them back - but only into the Dissidents group he made. The Dissidents were not allowed on the regular forums, but had a little corner of the forums for themselves, that only they could access. Some time later, under Kosta's approval a review for "Captain Comic Double Pack" written by Tiki was replaced with two reviews (one for each of the two Captain Comic games), written by someone else. That didn't sit well with Tiki. He entered the forums as guest and started complaining about it in Games Discussion. The terms of use of the reviews are such that we can remove/replace any review at any given time if we see it neccesary. Tiki was told to take his complaints directly to Kosta (who at the time was very active in the community). He kept posting his complaints in Games Discussion over and over. His complaints were removed, which only resulted in that he started to flame the staff. After that, we pretty much told him to STFU and take his complaints to the appropriate authority. He went and spammed Games Discussion with over thirty posts. Then he used his knowledge of the server passwords to delete a large number of game archives from the server (nobody bothered with changing the password after Tiki's Updater status was removed for the first time). This resulted in Tiki getting banned - again. IP-banned, in fact. Several months later, Kosta decided Tiki could be allowed back into Dissidents. Some time later, we found he was posting on the forum under two different accounts. Those were Kintoko and Vasilisk, both of which were promptly banned - but because of Tiki's Disident status, no further consequences were drawn. After the site upgrade, the Dissidents group was dissolved and thus Tiki has been allowed back on the forums as a normal user. Made one or two posts, then vanished. That's all that happened before the recent events. Tiki was banned multiple times and allowed back in over and over. Yet he keeps acting like the he's exempt from the rules and continues making himself poorly disguised sockpuppet accounts. He was given so many "second chances" it's ridiculous, but apparently it's just never enough for him. If he's reading this, I have two words for him: Grow up.
