![]() So far I have followed up to the DOSBOX basic commands: http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=basic&FAQ=1
The only problem is, none of 'em are working for me. I have tried inputting most of the ones mentioned in the tutorial, but all end up as failture with the "Unable" to complete the task given. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. |

![]() you could mount some kind of odd directory as c:, what was it? also try making a directory with different name than test cause sometimes it happens to be that some directories are hidden. if that doesnt help, just make one in windows

![]() Netsphere:
Please post exact commands you entered after launching DOSBox and the [autoexec] section of your DOSBox.conf. Also, what version of DOSBox are you using? Did you try redownloading and reinstalling it? |

![]() Other possibility ( was going to happen sooner or later) ......
Guest account? Restricted non-admin account ? On Vista? Then you can only use a C mount in your own documents folder. You must make a subfolder there and mount that as C in dosbox to be able to write to it, even to save games. Can also happen on XP (Daddy's pc .....) We are so used to run our systems with admin rights that we sometimes forget that not all are doing so. Just a thought.... (He IS on dosbox C: afterall... so it's mounted correctly apparently)

![]() 1.- If you're really seeing C:\> it's what Dosraider says.
2.- If you're actually seeing Z:\> 2.1.- You haven't placed yourself in the drive you mounted: enter «C:» and go on from there 2.2.- You haven't mounted the C drive at all

![]() @the_fifth_horseman
I am currently using the DOSBox 0.71. And yes, I already have tried reinstalling the application. @Other Posters I am using Window XP. DOSBox mounted the C: drive at start up. I tried inputting the prompted commands before inputting in "dir" and hit enter and after. All attempts ended in failure. I'll try to look into things a little more carefully when I get the time to do so. May have misjudged a couple of things. Also, I am mostly just following what the tutorial on DOSBox web site and trying to get through it. Any further suggestions or help would be much appreciated, thanks. |
