I didn't realize that Sega was the original publisher. I have this on Midway Arcade Treasures (well, I have the Root Beer Tapper version, which I don't think does anything different except call the drink root beer). It's pretty good, but I don't play it much because I suck at it.

Kind of funny to see a Mountain Dew ad. Is this one of the earliest forms of advertising in video games?

Wow, I never thought I'd see this game again, I was like..maybe 4 or 5 years when I played this. Didn't know what Mountain Dew was back then .

Great game, fun while it lasts.

i played this game for hours and hours when i was young... it was on a bootable floppy disk (5 1/4", DD) on a ericcson portable computer... monochrome display, 512KB of RAM... i always loved the music, the gameplay... though, i never got any further than the stadium, maybe once or twice i got the next level...

Gave me a "disk error" in DosBox 0.63, but not with 0.61...

Unfortunately, the ratings at Abandonia are unusable. Practically every game gets a 4 or 5. Hey guys! I appreciate Your game reviews, in fact they are most helpful. But a 4 means "almost perfect and highly enjoyable". How would Tapper compare to Ultima VII? Are both "equally good"? I don't think so.

It's filed under "The Crypt", which means the rating doesn't mean the same as for games outside "The Crypt".

Like 5th said these games are from different genres and from different times. Whatever we do it's impossible to compare these games. Comparing to other simple arcade games fom these days this one is a good one. If it wasn't - there wouldn't be a XBOX remake!

Anyway, I believe, that whatever notes someone gives to a certain game there will always be someone, who doesn't like it. It's personal opinion of reviewer (my opinion this case ) how many points will game recieve. You can always vote on the review/download page.

I played it and had fun when I was a kid, I played it and had fun a couple of days ago.
