That is good news, but, I thought that BlueByte went the way of the Dodo.

I heard of it some while before. I think it's great, but they shouldn't "improve" the gameplay too much. Just tune the interface a bit, make it more user-friendly, and make some neat graphics, that's it. I want it to be as much Settlers 2 as possible.

Worst news I heard in a while. Seems obvious for me that they want to overshadow the real Settlers 2 from the new gamers so they don't see that 2D is better than 3D in this kind of game... By making even more money from it.
When will the game companies realise that taking a 2D game to the 3D age is creating a whole new game in itself? I am yet to see such a game even go near the appeal of their predecessors... :not_ok: |

I'll give this a chance for the simple reason that the 'old' gameplay was much more fun and specific then the 'new' gameplay.
It'll never overshadow Settlers II for me, for the massive emotional value that game has to me, but I don't want to deny newer generations acces to the same that I had acces to, even if it's put in a jacket they all accept but I disagree with

3D actually works better for this series, no more trying to find Settlers stuck under trees.
And despite what anyone thinks, I still think 3 and 4 are the best.

In S2 I would keep trying to find Settlers stuck under dense forestation, or perhaps those annoying times when you have a huge cities and they stand behind buildings for no good reason! That was so annoying! Half my population was trying to avoid my eye by hiding behind some idiotic place. Now I guess you can zoom and rotate the camera so it won't be a problem. I just hope they retain that funky path and arrow system. And the roads, can't live without the roads!
