I second Dark Sun: Shattered Lands. Just stay away from Wake of the Ravager. I'd also recommend Albion, and if you like newer games, then definitely Drakensang and Drakensang: The River of Time. Latter two I try to make everybody to play, because they are such underdogs, and real gems in their category. Especially given the watered down consolesque "rpg" abominations of late. Oh and of course Legend of Grimrock

I'd recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, an interesting mix of RPG/FPS and Survival gameplay styles that I've been playing these days. I'm sure your computer can run it, since the minimum graphics settings make the game look on par with some from 8 years ago (but that doesn't ruin it, don't worry)

For an older game... I see you like RPGs, so how about Arcanum?

Hmm. I see nothing wrong in WotR. What is it, hunvagy?

Just opposite, I am not very recommend it. For me it have two bigger drawbacks: wilderness without any map and necessity to move forward and back by this wilderness. If not that - well, it could be very good.

Just reminding: it's a Realm of Arkania setting, so I recommend to check first three games before Drakensang.

How about a mix of Doom and RPG - the usually forgotten Strife, often overlooked CyberMage and the fine System Shock?

How about Darkstone, a lighter, 3D clone of Diablo?

Did any of you played Temple of Elemental Evil: A Classic Greyhawk Adventure? Looks very baldursgateish.

The problem with WotR is, that even the CD version is so bugged that it can deadlock you, if you do something wrong, not to mention balancing problems and gamebreaking bugs. Oh and that it's way uglier then Shattered Lands, and I have no idea how they managed to do that

Drakensang is 4th edition DSA, so none of your knowledge from the first three will do you any good. They really changed the system. Also you don't need to know the spell names by heart now, apparently they finally have them in german(english).

I disagree about "ugly" part, but yes, my floppy version deadlocked on me in the middle of the game... Well, I didn't test CD yet.

Oh. I didn't know it, thank you!

Also, yoga, I am second in System Shock 1-2 recommendation - I overlooked it.

Yeah, it's a real pity that game is so broken. The last time I tried to play it again even the community patches hadn't solved all the game breaking issues, that was a few years ago though so maybe it's all sorted now.
