You are correct Borodin, i don't have much knowlegde(spelling?)about old RPG's, although i recently played lands of lore, albion, ultima & other old RPG's.I do like however "new" RPG's.From here i go backwards and play old RPG's.I have many RPG's to play yet, but i have most of the old ones covered.Anyway i could have made this a old favorite RPG poll, but then i couldn't quite justify my option. So instead i made a poll about somewhat recent games.

Omeltzu, have you considered asking the admins to relabel your thread and its poll to specifically reflect "modern" RPGs? Just an offhand thought.

As for me, I'll never forget the amazement I felt upon seeing the environmental interactivity and graphics for Ultima VIIa the first time. There are some poor gameplay decisions by Garriott, but by and large I'm still impressed by its depth of puzzles and scope. Give that one a try, if you can.

LOL! That'll teach me to sign below the dotted line without reading the details.

As for KoDP, it's among my top 3 RPGs of all time: a classic, and a remarkable piece of work. I've posted about it in a thread on GameBanshee, where I'm a mod, but it's hard to get people interested. Allow me to point to another site where there are far more screens, plenty of reviews, and lots of help info for people who are already playing.

I know what you mean...
I´ve posted that adress quite a few times already at the thread,
advertised & praised it,
and still,
not a single soul noticed /-

It´s actually one of the best games (if not the best) I´ve ever played...
Such a shame that no-one truly ever noticed it...

Would have been a bliss if A-sharp had made another game...

there are only 2 addons, not 3 :eeeeeh: - which kinda sucks
I thought there came out a third one not long ago?..
At least, when I updated my NWN some time ago, there came yet another screen of something other than the two addons, with another name, don't remember it now...

According to David Dunham, the lead designer at A-Sharp, they thought the game would simply sell well over the Web, so they didn't invest a cent in buying floorspace at any of the game retailers who really rake in profits that far surpass those of most publishers and developers. But who knew A-Sharp as a game developer? Even the best publicity from game reviewers didn't help. I raved about the title in an unfortunately deceased publication; a few others did, too. But it didn't help. They had plans for doing a second title using the same game engine, but scrapped these when KoDP failed to sell. Understandable, if sad.

Just two add-ons to date. I think when people refer to the third NWN title, they mean the second add-on, which is confusing. In my opinion, it's the first one to really make use of the roleplaying possibilities in the engine.

Any prospect of starting up a thread here for its discussion, so we can attempt to spread the word? However, it isn't abandonware.

Neverwinter Nights? Bleh..........it and KOTOR are built on the same engine, and I think KOTOR is a far superior game. And I'm a much bigger fantasy fan than sci-fi fan, although I do like Star Wars.
