![]() thanx, thats easily, and for the most part already, told.
Working on a W2K OS, Sp4 installed. I´m using Dosbox 6.2, with D-Fend v2 as a frontend. With the Ultimas I just used my usual routine, unpacking the game files into a separate folder. Then using D-fend to set up a program profile for Dosbox, taking all the D-fend presets, exept for the Memory managemant part, where I disabled XMS and EMS, and the Dos-memory settings, which I put up to 63MB. Same way I did it with the CD last year, which worked fine. (though on a different hardware) Dosbox produced no error messages at all - once in the Dosbox-dos screen I tried activating the .exe files, to which the response "illegal command *exe-file*" Or spelled out: I did type in SI enter, and the DOs screen told me "illegal command SI.EXE." that was it. kind of like the .exe where no .exe. Remember that of the Dos-days, although theyre long gone and I was a kid by then Redownloading didnt work. Activating the files manually in a blank Dosbox-enviroment with deactivated EMS brought the same results. I mean, this works fine on U6, Warcraft, Fantasygeneral an any number of other games. *sigh* Well, I just hoped, maybe somebody came up with the same problems and fond a way around So, appreciate it if you got some ideas <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(the_fifth_horseman @ Feb 9 2007, 08:50 AM) </div> Quote:

![]() Upgrade your DosBox to most recent v0.65, for starters.
Also, stop using D-Fend. I know for a fact that it can cause problems with running games where normally none occur. |

![]() ok, I´ll try that.
Are any other in-windows frontends for dosbox some good? I quite liked that handling... Ah, well. Thank you. |

![]() I heard a bit of good about DosBoxer, but it also apparently causes some trouble.
My personal advice is that you're MUCH better off by learning to modify Dosbox.conf manually rather then continuing to use frontend software. |

![]() Is there a setup file in the game directory? It may have an option to disable expanded/extended memory usage.

![]() Exult should automatically have cheats enabled. Take a quick look through some of the readme files and such. I think there's actually an option in the Exult main menu that enables and disables cheats, though I'm not sure.
