Well, if you like Plant that much, you should know that he isn't a guitarist, he is a singer(vocalist)!
Hmm... I know, I got kinda carried away.. didn't think of the actualy topic here
Finally found my Led Zeppelin cd's back, been listening to them all day!! ... Can't imagine how happy I am!!!! Seriously... I thought I'd lost them. Found them in my dad's cd-collection :ranting:

But hell yeah, Jimmy is awesome!!!!!!

Tim Reynolds...Eric Clapton...Jimmi Hendrix...no one even comes close to touching those three.

As for the greatest BASS guitarist...no one has ever been as great as Victor Wooten

Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Satriani's level of guitarplaying's way above Jimi Hendrix's. Guitar students can, after several years of practice, play songs by Jimi Hendrix, but after the double amount of years, still won't be able to play stuff by Satriani, or just barely. And that's when they're talented. Malmsteen's technically very advanced as well, but he does kinda sound like nothing but spoo (wanking on your guitar... term used in The Big Frank Zappa Book, and it best describes such guitar play), while Vaughan and Satriani have a very high technical level as well, but make their songs real songs, not just showcases of technical capabilities.

I understand where you are coming from with that, and I think Jimi Hendrix is considerd the best mainly because he is dead...so really no one CAN touch him. The reason is is also considered so amazing is because he did things no one had before...anyone that brings about new stuff like he did is considered amazing (look at Buddy Rich and Dave Garibaldi and what they did with drums) I still think Eric Clapton and Tim Reynolds are two of the most amazing living guitarist...only problem is, not too many people know who Tim Reynolds is.

I think Gordon Giltrap is the greatest guitarist ever.

Never heard of him?

He was in the bands of a few "big-name" singers in the 70's and 80's but he is best known (i say best known though he's hardly known at all) for his solo albums. I saw him live a few years ago and it was awesome. Better than most well-known guitarists I've heard.

Completely

But my friend told me the world's greatest Drummer only had one arm, but he always talks a lot of muck, so I don't believe him.

He is probably referring to the guy in Def Leppard(?) (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I can't be bothered to look up which band it is so I guessed! LOL ).

He does only have one arm!

Throwing my vote to Joe Satriani, have seen some of his music dvd's and wow that's just awsome talent.
