NWN is ok too, but only in multiplayer. When you've played bg2 and compare it NWN it misses pure atmosphere. that's what i think at least.

Hm. I'd have to agree on that it doesn't quite have the atmosphere that Baldur's Gate has but if you're looking for atmosphere, I think the best games to have it were the Fallout series. All of them, including Tactics.
I'm actually pretty surprised that Myst didn't make it into the list, maybe thats just me. :bleh:
