Default The Darklands needs to create a directory...

And allocate space for working files.
TO continue installation, type a letter that designates the hard drive where you want the game files stored or press ENTER to quit:

Ok. Every time I mount Darklands and run the darklands.exe command I get this error. What exactly does it mean? Because it's not accepting any commands I imput. Tried using my C drive but it gives a "Invalid drive letter specified." message. Same with all other drive letters. Is this a common occurrence? I've never gotten this problem playing Master of Magic.

I poured through the DOSbox wiki looking for a way to get around it but no such luck

Anyone have any input?

I'm running Windows 7 if that is any help.

Your mount lines?

Also:

BTW, there is no 'darklands.exe', it's 'darkland.exe'.
Also: rename the darklands folder in the archive to darkland

I go with the usual mount line

Try mounting directly the drive c: with

mount c c:\

then switching to the game folder with

cd \darkland

and see if that helps.

Extract the darkland folder to
c:\users\your name\oldgames\ so that your win7 path is:
c:\users\your name\oldgames\darkland\
To run the game::
mount c "c:\users\your name\oldgames\"
c:
cd darkland
darkland

Can't be that hard to accomplish, is it?

If you don't want to have to type the mount lines over and over again:

That definitely helped with the original problem dosraider.

Though now I get the CD-ROM drive could not be found!

Check to see that the CD-ROM drive is on-line and that the Darklands disc is loaded.

error.
