I have followed every single step of the "how to run AI" post on my computer (vista) and it just refuses to run. I've put that code into the autorun section of my config file, and I've run the setup program. No matter how many times I do it, it just gives me a bit of information and the same "mouse drivers found, no cd rom drive found" that I've been getting since I started trying.

Is there anyone who knows a way for me to get this god forsaken game working?

... the game hosted here just did not work for me. Got it someplace else, worked without trouble.

I am using ubuntu, but I haven't had an ubuntu related dosbox (currently 0.73 by the way) issue yet, but since the game obviously works for other, I thought I should at least mention it. But other posters with the same problem were using windows, or so it seems.

PS: I forgot to check, wether a re-download from abandonia would work. It did.

Obviously it does not find the cd-rom data as expected. Care to mention how you were trying to mount the cd-rom? Reminder, the relevant lines in this case are:

mount c <your path to game dir>
mount d <your path to game dir> -t cdrom
c:
AI.COM

I made a "patched" version of AI.COM -file, which removes cd-check.

It's below as base64 encoded text (so you have to decode it with some tool, eg. openssl):

You just have to copy-paste text to notepad and save it to AI.txt -text file (without any blanklines) and decode it. Then copy AI.COM to Alien Incidents -directory.

For example:

1. Download and install OpenSSL for windows (its free) from http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html (I suggest this: http://www.slproweb.com/download/Win...SSL-1_0_0c.exe)
2. Save text -file to C:\AI.txt
3. Open windows command-prompt and goto openssl -directory and decode text-file to an COM-file:

C:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin>cd \

C:\>cd OpenSSL-Win32\bin

C:\OpenSSL-Win32\bin>openssl base64 -d -in C:\AI.txt -out C:\AI.COM

4. Now you got patched version of AI.COM. So copy this AI.COM -file to Alien Incident -directory (you have to overwrite the old file)

5. Run game


If you got games animation-files, just copy them to Alien Incidents CDA-directory and watch them. It works without CD.

I downloaded the cd version and according to the walkthrough on your site at the crypt there is supposed to be a mummy but on my version of the game which I downloaded from the ISO cellar its not there. What gives?
