It's ridiculous, how the US prates about terrorism and takes away personal freedoms; cries about intolerance and forces foreigners to carry their passbooks or face arrest; moans about foreign interests but gives the Saudi Ambassador a presidential bodyguard; shouts loudly about danger to the State and leads the fight against free speech.

The sad part is that they've so dumbed down their educational system that their electorate stands their nodding peacefully along to everything they say.

Don't they realise the power they're giving to their politicians by letting them think for them? Before we know it, they'll have banned Animal Farm and 1984 for being aggressively anti-government and cryptocommunist. Who will be the next MacCarthy, I wonder?

Typical, give someone too much power and they will abuse it. How or why does America think it can judge foreign hosted websites, one countries laws do not apply to another. And who exactly do they plan on having sitting there watching and catching these pirate websites? Well thought out plan is not well thought out at all.

To be fair, it's more the USA's politicians and corporations that are the worst. The Americans themselves are brainwashed and indoctrinated in being used as cheap labour yet don't realise it. FOX and co have even managed to convince people that health care is a bad thing by comparing it to communism! Well done, right wing rich douche bags.

Lets not just turn this into an American bashing thread....this isn't even just a politican driven idea, from what I can tell a lot of it comes from the MPAA and other such groups trying to protect themselves from pirates. Sadly they would rather take away everyones freedom then do anywork about the problem themselves.

Not to mention that I linked to some news earlier in this thread (regarding the UK, Australia), about how every democratic government on the planet is trying to do the same as the USA; and of course the non democratic are doing and planning things far worse. If you want to monitor what the USA government alone does, that's your option.
