You will probably need dosbox to run this game.
Depends of your OS.....

There are stickies in the Troubleshooting sub for dosbox beginners.....

BTW, this game is not downloadable for now, can change in the future.

Too bad it can not be downloaded, it's so influencing. Nah, maybe better, then, this way.
I have the SNES version already and I have finished it. It has 100 stages and at the 100th you fight against the boss.

I'm a real DOS fan, but the SNES version kills this one.
This version doesn't even have sound effects (I believe).

I recently bought the cart for the SNES for this game, apparently it's a bit of a rarity. The guy had no idea, got it for a super cheap price!! :-)))

If this is the original bust-a-move I think the release date should be 1995. Developed by Taito. Is that size correct?

Are you sure it's from 1995? On mobygames it says that the Windows ver is from 1995, while the DOS one from 1997. We seem to have the DOS version.

I have the DOS version of Bust-A-Move 2 and it says 1996-1997. If you look at MobyGames Bust-A-Move series history it has the DOS and Windows as 95 and BAM 2 as 1996. Confusing. I suppose it doesn't really matter. I only asked because I was checking on Bust-A-Move 2 as to if it is eligible or not.

You could try the DOSBox keymapper:

Q1. You want to have the X on your keyboard to type a Z in DOSBox.
A. Click on the Z on the keyboard mapper. Click "Add".
Now press the X key on your keyboard.

Q2. If you click "Next" a couple of times, you will notice that the Z on your
keyboard also produces an Z in DOSBox.
A. Therefore select the Z again, and click "Next" until you have the Z on
your keyboard. Now click "Del".

Q3. If you try it out in DOSBox, you will notice that pressing X makes ZX
appear.
A. The X on your keyboard is still mapped to the X as well! Click on
the X in the keyboard mapper and search with "Next" until you find the
mapped key X. Click "Del".
