I installed it and ran into the same problem than you. However, this is obviously a cracked version, and probably an old one. I was used to see installation screens like this when I was young (yes, I dealed with "warez" myself back in the BBS days...). This mean that the quality of the rip is questionable. When you encounter such a rip, it usually works or it doesn't, and they sure don't care about compatibility issues.

Only one file have remotely usefull informations. It's FILE_ID.NFO, and you must open it with notepad. .NFO files seems to be something Windows recognise as some kind of "MS Info document", but .NFO files are simple .txt files that hackers used to use back in the days.

for your information, they are still used in warez and some nfo files are totally useless.

Back in the days, I used to run on my old 486 a lot of games (such as C&C) which required a CD-Rom to install and play the game with. However, I had no such CD-Rom on my computer but still managed to play those cracked game fully and "without" problems. The workaround for this was to get a program for DOS which was "emulating" the CD-Rom drive so the computer actually "thought" there was a CD-Rom drive installed. In fact, it was working pretty much like DOSBox, meaning you had to "mount" a directory with the original CD source files and the program was re-routing all the CD-Rom access to the directory.
