Hey, I'm new here. But I've been hunting this game down for over a few years.

I liked the game when I was young, and wanted to see if I could find it. Today, I did. I downloaded and it runs superb.

Except, there's no sound. Is there a way I can fix that?

Are you using Dosbox? "SC.BAT" and the game should run fine with sound.

Oh, at first I wasn't, but I tried out the Dosbox with your link.

Sounds are back, thanks for the help

Also, would this Dosbox work for games slightly younger then Space Crusade? Say... Highway hunter?

For almost anything that ran in DOS, really.

Altough I don't recommend trying to run Quake in it without some serious CPU power (note that multi-core doesn't offer much improvement - none beyond dual core - and x64 none whatsoever).

DOSbox is used to run DOS games on modern OS. So, yes it works for Highway hunter.

It's dug in somewhere in the menu.
I think you access it by some window with a bunch of weapons shown in it.

Yeah, I just found it.

Its in the area where you choose a squad. Put your cursor over the symbol of the selected squad, and when it starts to blink, click it.

That'll take you to the stat, weapon/powerup, and save/load menu.

Hey, while looking up some videos of the new warhammer 40k online thats coming out, it reminded me of a game I played when I was very very young (around 5-6), after a little research I found out is name, SPACE CRUSADE!

I immediately set about trying to get a version to run, I came across this and to my suprise it worked!

Only problem is there are a few problems...

1: I noticed people keep saying press ctrl f10 to lock your mouse and ctrl F11-12 to speed/slow down the game. None of these work. They don't seem to do anything.

I am playing using the DOSbox0.74, I am running the cracked version to get past that "read the manual" password thingymajig.

But no matter what I do there seems to be no way of slowing the game down.

2: The firing system doesn't seem to work, when I click the button the yellow squares appear then disapear after letting go. Strange seeing as how I can click for movement and also for hand-to-hand combat, it just seems to be firing thats the problem.

Same sort of thing happens when I try to choose my squads, when selecting the bloodravens/iron fists/ultramarines the closing gates go up and down really quickly, and I have to get lucky and let go of the mouse at the right time to get them selected.

Most of these are minor problems, including a lack of sound effects and music.
These are not major problems, but if someone has any advice on how to get the firing system working that would suit me fine. Playing without the sound effects and awesome intro music is bearable, but to only be able to engage in melee combat is gonna make the game damn near impossible.

Edit: Never mind, did some searching on forums and found a guide to setting up dosbox with the NC (something commander) in it, this fixed all my problems. Now I can finnaly play this most epic of games

God bless you internet and internet wizards. God bless you all.
