I seriously doubt penis monsters will be the worst that the users come up with.

Cons:
Not deep enough
All about the creator
Designed for Non-gamers

Not deep enough? Designed for Non-gamers? I always thought this game was all about depth and now I'm not so sure if I'm as excited. Do any of you think it will turn out okay?
The game has the depth you put into it, the depth you make of it. this is one of the features of Maxis games that has a long-standing tradition... They require the user to have an imagination, and that they use it.

I have found spore to have enough depth from the Creature Creator alone!

Apparently the reviewer is more about games like GTA IV and FPS. Spore is designed to appeal to all ages, and the lack of the sort of nonsense that children can't be exposed to is interpreted as lack of depth, but there is depth there... rest assured.

Spore is, like Sims, is not a game, but more like a virtual toy.

Still, Id like to give it a try, because greating stuff is always cool and addicting.

Second Life wasn't a game. It was an attempt, still active, I believe, to incorporate real and virtual lives, complete with virtual cafes, stores, etc.

Pretty neat concept, but I lost interest in it shortly after trying it out. Couldn't see how it was actually better than just pulling up blahblah.com and buying from there, or just calling a friend on the phone.
