Another 'need help remembering game' post
I'm trying to remember an old arcade game.
Setting was in a Mad Max type world. Player had a car that you would drive around in the wasteland. You could exit the car and shoot. I believe the car could also shoot and you could run other enemies down if they were on foot. Other cars would chase you and try to ram you. I remember the other cars actually had 'bull horns' on the front of them to ram you with. If your car took too much damage, your car would smoke and you would be forced to exit and, of course, be very vulerable. I seem to remember that you had to collect fuel as well. I played this game maybe once or twice. It's been driving me crazy forever. For some reason I think the name had 'Rumble' in it. Something with R. If anyone has an idea. Let me know. Thanks. |

Are you sure it had R?

How old? 80's? 90's?

I'm going to say late 80's because it was fairly complex and fast.
'R' may not be in the title at all. The memory is so vague that my brain might be playing tricks on me. Thanks for helping. I know it's not a DOS game, but I'm on a MAME binge right now. |

Yeah, a bit like Autoduel. But with nicer arcade graphics and no real RPG element to it.
You did have the freedom to drive around in all directions between stages. You were not limited to driving straight ahead, like, for example, Spy Hunter. That's what was cool about it. It was like Gauntlet but with a car you could jump into and out of. I seem to remember when you started out, someone would open a gate from your starting base and say "good luck" or something like that. I think that was part of the objective. You drove from base to base toward some ultimate goal. |

Except for the supposed platform, it sounds alot like the Mad Max game for the NES. Though I think getting out of the car might have been saved for the endgame portion.
