To circumvent this problem, you have to mount a CD-ROM drive in DOSBox.

It doesn't really matter whether that's your physical CD-ROM drive, a directory mounted with the -t cdrom argument or an ISO image mounted through IMGMOUNT - any of these will make DOSBox load it's CD-ROM drivers and thus allow the game to run.

mount d [YOUR CD DRIVE LETTER]:\ -t cdrom
Is the most practical, since it also lets you use your real CD-ROM drive in DOSBox. Or you can also use the CDEMU utility that is included with some of the downloadable versions of the game (including the one here, IIRC):

If you like this game you should really get it on CD - the rip isn't anywhere near as good since you're missing out on movies, sweet music, and speech!

I had exactly the same problem you are all having. I actually have the CD though so it might be different. You can try putting any cd in because obviously it needs one, but I just ran mine strait from windows and it worked, no sound though, which leads me to believe the CD doesnt matter as I would have sound from the CD if it did.
You should have seen how happy I was like a kid in a Candy Store!!!!!!

And of course mount your virtual C also to launch the game.

Don't like it? Don't want it? Against your religion? Something?

[Edit]Regarding your previous posts for you it gives:

mount c c:\games
mount d [YOUR CD DRIVE LETTER]:\ -t cdrom
c:
cd kyran3
main
