Yeah i remember something similar it is as the game wants you to run your legs off, I myself had a few times i kept on failing missions while i even wasn't beginning to shoot. After a while i got so frustated i just ran into the enemy's camp and shot everything up without dying:P. Then i got mission succesful.

Gregor: Yeah, it was the damne pilot alright. I then ordered the other teams to HP, and rescued the pilot before allowing the teams to carry on, only ALPHA had obviously mistaken the halt for a trip to a pub or something. He never cared about the mission anymore. Bastard didn't get to the chopper, and now he's walking home. Serves the bugger right.

The mission where you're supposed to kidnap an officer still annoys me though and I haven't been able to figure that one out. Also, now I'm on a stealth mission to rescue some unlucky souls. Problem is I'm spotted the moment I land and the order to panic is given right away. Seems to me the team behind this game never heard the word "tweaking" before, or "beta".

well units have thier vission. mostly it's 180 degrees circle or sometimes a quarter of circle (you can even make a full one giving them eyes on the back :-O).

i think i know which mission is that. you will have to go over the ridge in front of you.
drop and lie to the ground (you can glide a bit with parachute). the use binoculars to see if patrol can spot you. sneak past them when they are not looking your way or use silencer to pop them from the grass. then go over the ridge. and slowly move in to their base (clearing the area of soldiers). if this is the one i think it is some "friendlies" will join the fight and turn the attention away form you (still a hard mission). needs a lot of sneaking and use of silencer.

anyway i suggest not following waypoints all the time. sometimes this has to be done just so the events can be triggered, but sometimes it's better to use a totally different route.

I owned Delta Force 1 and Land Warrior, actually I still have the original boxes and cds w/serial keys. I liked delta force 1 alot, but I didn't really get a chance to play land warrior too much, all I know is that they were both fun. If you like tactical based games, may I suggest Operation Flashpoint. I would run on your pc and it is a really good tactical shooter based on a fictional conflict between USA and USSR during the cold war.

If you are interested, Ghost Recon is one of the best wide space tactical shooters I've played. Rocks in coop!

I also played Operation Flashpoint so so so long ago and I loved that aswell. People prefer it a classic too!
