Well actually setting it to normal causes dosbox to exit without any readable message.

I found a way it works, i have to save the last move, exit, go to setup selecting no sound so i will be able to run it without dosbox and then end level
It is not compfortable, but it works.
I actually dont want to down/upgrade dosbox

Maybe you don't know ... eurhhhh, correction, you don't know but:
You can install all the dosbox versions you want, they don't interfere with eachother.
Each version installs in it own folder and create their own start menu items.
No problems at all.
So you can install/try all versions you want.
But usually the latest version is the most compatible, rare are the games that run better in an earlier version.
Think it's only 2 or 3 games, or so .... forgot.

And they can share the same gamesfolder to mount as C:
