It's a great game. I really enjoyed it - more than the Indiana games even. There was a Windows version released in 2002 that you should still be able to buy. I don't think that either the DOS or Windows versions will become abandonware any time this century. Firstly, it's a LucasArts game; and, secondly, it was just too popular. Moby games have reviews and screen shots here

recently i found this game from my old games, when i was a 6 or 7 i try to play it but, because of dont knowing english and poor playing of adventure i cant past even asteroid mission . anyway i install it again and very like it. is anyone can put this to Abandonia ? i didnt meant to put the game, i know its still on sold ( i look the lucasarts site ), i mean put the manual and forum or other additional things.

and before you asked, i did search the forum about the dig game but its make an error. its seems that we cant search games under 4 letter, i tryed "dig","the dig","thedig" but no luck. is there topic about Dig in here ?

if its not, this is my question: after finishing the game, i look on wikipedia and learned that there is an SCUMM emulator,i use the emulator, its giving sound, unlike the without that emulator. but i both want sound and subtitles, it seems that subtitles only work when the sound is not work, is there a anyway we can work them together ?

and one more question, its not about the game but when i see credits, there is a person named "Deniz ?nce" this man or woman ( Deniz both male and female name in Turkish" ) is one of the creators of The Dig. i searched it from internet but other than a page on mobby games, i got no results. here is my question, is anyone know him /her ?, maybe he / she make more games on lucasarts or on other companys ?

thanks for reading this long writing

Well, the thing is we don't usually add reviews of games we cannot offer for download.
As it is, The Dig will be protected by the copyright owner until January 2011 - that is, if they stop selling it before that date.

You might want to discuss this matter with Kosta and try to persuade him to allow adding a review and discussion thread for the game. If he says OK, then we'll do it.
Otherwise, a review may still be posted in the Community Reviews forum.

I ran the game in DosBox - with full sound and subtitles. IIRC you need to press the dot key on your keyboard to switch them on or off... I think that was the default for most Lucasarts games in that period.

about that question i got it working. but when i try to play it on dosbox its always failed, i think its because this game is not install play game you have to play it from CD only your sound card settings and you save games in harddisk. so how you make it work ? because i cant. by the way i still cant find its forum, where is it ?

By mounting the CD-Rom drive in DosBox. There is nothing difficult about doing that.

There isn't one at the moment.
If you want, you can write a review of the game and post it in the Community Reviews forum or discuss the game itself in Favorite Oldies And Newbies.
