Anyone knows who is responsible for the awesome page at:

http://web.comhem.se/~u19128212/

First I'd like to congratulate him, afterwards ask if he plans to end the maps/solution for the 1st game.

I believe the best bet we have to fix the in-game scripts is by using Michal Benes engine (source available at his homepage at:

http://www.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~benes/lotr/

And that complete map? How's it coming along? :bleh:

Finally an update! [Edit:] It should be reasonably complete now, though I am still updating it.

Comments welcome!
It's 'despair' BTW.

That's awesome, looks like whoever made that page (didn't see any contact info on it) spent a lot of time and effort on it...I even found a couple of places on maps that I had never explored. Thanks for sharing that...I had checked it out when it was first posted, but there's much more up there now.

Contact info added, though I don't check that address very often.

The thing should be reasonably complete now, though I am still updating it.

wow man, that effort on that page is appretiated

although i'd give you a friendly advice: don't direct link your mail, because you will get shtiloads of spam from bots rather make a server-side contact form. or at least put an image instead of the actuall @ in the adress

Thanks for the advice r.u.s.s. I've mangled that address somewhat.

Next would be a page on modding the game. (Won't be done any time soon though.)

Hope you find the maps useful!

Oh, ok, I didn't get from reading your earlier post that you (Turrog) were the one updating this page. In any case, the maps and walkthroughs are excellent...I may have to fire this game up one last time and explore a couple of things that I missed.

Any plans to do the same thing for the Two Towers? I don't know how others feel...I liked LOTR a little better, but the third one never getting made was just annoying.

Default moria

Erm does any1 know whats in the middle of that lava room in Moria? It's the 7th deep, in the same hallway as the room with the golden throne that has the balrog and durin's anvil etc. Theres this square area of lava off to the side, you can see an island in the middle on the map. I think you're supposed to use the ice staff to get across. I've tried it though and it tells me the staff freezes the lava but I die anyway when I walk forward.

Default Words of power

Also, does anyone know if the words of power Beren, Elbereth and Angmar are used for anything?

Elbereth will remove one Nazgul from a fight (they abandon the battle). I remember when you get "Angmar" I think the game says "say ANGMAR to the stone apart", but I don't remember what stone that refers to (probably used on Weathertop), and can't remember what BEREN does either off the top of my head. I'll post it if I remember...
