You might try to see if that changes when running in fullscreen (sometimes it does).
Second comes the amount of emulated RAM memory. Change it from the default 4 to 8 or 16. Third, make sure the sound configuration of the game matches the values you've got set in DosBox.conf - defaults are Sound Blaster 16, IRQ (interrupt) 7, DMA 1, Address 220h. If you've got that set and continue to encounter problems, try changing the soundcard emulation to Sound Blaster Pro 2 (SBPRO2).
