Anyways... Probably you could do some troubleshooting on the web? Or on the Microsoft suppport site? Even Maxis maybe?

Ok, so I've tried everything in the last 11 pages, and none of it works for me. So far, it works up the when you start a new game, there, it runs for about 1 hour game time, and locks up, and displays one of those white "An error has occured......" messages with Close and Ignore. Ignore does squat, and close closes Sim Tower and displays the Illegal operation message.
Im Running Windows 98SE v4.10.2222 A on a 533mhz Celeron with 191mb of RAM. After peeking around the Simtower folder I noticed a program in the folder named "Info.exe", when you open it, it seems to spit out a bunch of system info in a DOS console. Here's my dump from Info.exe, comments are displayed in bold Quote:

EMS/XMS are two ways in which DOS manages larger quantities of RAM... they don't have anything to do with Windows.
Personally, I'd rather bet that some background-running process doesn't like Simtower too much... try disabling every background program before running the game next time. |

I am having a very similiar problem, except it's the 5th floor I'm struggling with. I tried to follow the advice given to this guest, by building an elevator on various floors (I tried them all, 1-4) and also have stairs on every floor. So far, no luck. Any advice? Thanks! |

You best build your elevators assymetrical. The first two may go up to 15th floor. Then start at least one elevator every skylobby supported by express elevators.
I'd spare the first three or even four floors with elevator connection and leave them with stairs. Otherwise they'll flood your elevators for lunchtime. These guys can walk! >

Hey, is there any way to change the rent for a large block of units, or set them so they are built at a higher rent? It gets real old real fast changing the rent for 1000+ units.
Love the game, thanks for the help! |
