I currently rely on my axe too, but that's because I used up all my ammo in the beginning of the invasion, and there's too much to do to spend AP searching.
Once the dust settles, I'll start using firearms again, though. They provide a much more formidable offense and defense (if necessary).

Glad to see others can't get to the forum either, I was worried the problem was at my end. btw, I'm currently devoting my APs to reviving the big pile of zeds in the church.
