Part one is! Just try finishing without the walkthrough (like I did the first time). I don't usually get stuck for that long - but it took me half a year (mostly because I playd it on C64 without the game save option and had to start from the begining every time).
You're telling me!!! I dl ZAK this past weekend with the walkthrough (it's the first adventure type game I've ever tried) and I could not imagine doing it w/o the walkthrough. I know I'm a bit obtuse at times, but if all adventure games are this tough I can imagine giving up in frustration all too often. No sense of accomplishment using the walkthrough, but it at least it helped me get a taste of this game genre. Any suggestions on which game to try next?

Thanks
Ken

There's a 256 colour version of the original Zak you can play on ScummVm floating around the net somewhere. FM towns version.

and once you're done with Blue Force and Future Wars... CONQUESTS OF THE LONGBOW!! yeah, that's a great adventure game... and the Larry Laffer series (comically fun).

If you liked Zak, you should really try Maniac Mansion. Very similar, and even funnier. Hamster in the microwave anyone?
