Default Alien Odyssey - Need Help Please!

I've been trying to find this game forever.
Finally got it from a friend.

On a side note, the one posted in the ISO Cellar here seems to be corrupt.

Now on to the problem, i have tried literally everything i can think of to get this game to run.

I tried running the 3DGAME.EXE in dosbox but it tells me to run GAME.BAT

When i run GAME.BAT it just switches dosbox back to C:\>

I even tried creating an auto-exec and still got nothing.

I'm running DosBox 0.74 on Vista 32bit

Let me know if you need any more info.

Well we are going to need to know a few things.

Is this game on a real CD, or some form of ISO, or is it a preinstalled copy that doesnt need a CD to run?

What are your mounts?

It's just a bunch of files in a folder so i'm assuming it's pre-installed.

This is what i do...
Open DOSBox
mount C "C:\Users\Mike\Desktop\ODYSSEY"
C:\
GAME.BAT

After i type GAME.BAT and press enter it just goes back to C:\

I opened the GAME.BAT file with a text editor and this is all it has in it...
Code:
@echo off

del *.swp
cls

set dos4g=quiet
set dos4gpath=.;..;

mcp
All the other games i run work fine.

Well the first then we can try is fixing how you are mounting the game.

Make a folder in the Users\Mike, something like Oldgames or Dosgames. Then put the Odyssey folder inside it.

mount C C:\users\mike\oldgames
C:\
Cd Odyssey

And try running the game from there.

Also check if there is an install or setup .exe inside the odyssey folder.

I have a feeling this game might need a CD to run, I am downloading the game from the ISO cellar as I type this, just as a note I am using the download info from the final post in the Alien Odyssey thread. And Jdownloader.

Yes the ISO does appear to be corrupted *Shakes fist at corrupted file*, one of the more experienced Dosbox pros around here might be able to help you out more then I can, but I have a feeling that the copy of the game you have is looking for a CD to run from.

Dosraider if you are around here show this new guy your mighty skills.

Yeah, looks like you may be right.
I just checked the game.cfg file after you mentioned that and it looks like it's asking for a cd...
Code:
Language 0

Controller 0

Stick 3 3 68 93 1180 1263 2012 2492 18 3

FMVkeys 72 80 75 77 51 52 49 50 25 1

3Dkeys 72 80 75 77 29 57 44 42 56 2 45 30

CDpath D:\ODYSSEY\

Difficulty 0

SoundQuality 2

SoundVolume 0

MusicVolume 0

Subtitles 1
Perhaps if i try creating an iso out of the files i might be able to run it?

I doubt that would work, but who knows. Most of the games from this age installed only a small part onto the harddrive leaving the rest to be drawn from the CD. The ISO from the cellar would be 450mb.
