Two Guys from Andromeda return!
Hey folks, any Space Quest fans out there?
The Two Guys from Andromeda (Space Quest veterans Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy) are back in the adventure gaming business, together again! They're starting a new sci-fi game. Some info and a video over at their website: http://guysfromandromeda.com/ |

Well....color me interested! Never expected these two to get back together, but if there's gonna be another parody sci-fi adventure, then sign me up!
I just hope its not another Kickstarter, but it looks like they've already gotten started well without it (and it kind of looked a bit like they mocked the idea of sending money at the video). |

I am more happy about this idea then anything else bar a Jim Walls Police Quest. A pity it wont have Roger Wilco! but you can't have everything you want now can you.

http://guysfromandromeda.com/podcast...wo-guys-speak/
First episode of podcast with both Scott and Mark and one of their employees Chris Pope (their agent and the guy who runs the site). Lot of neat information, but here's the highlights. * After leaving Sierra Mark Crowe worked in Pipeworks Software, while Scott Murphy stayed out of the game business. * They haven't been in contact with each other for over 15 years because of some bitterness. However, things have now been patched up and they're good friends again, probably better than over. * They got lot of staff members ready, but they're not ready to reveal the roster yet. They hinted that some of their old friends might be working with them. * New game not Space Quest, but most likely its still gonna have lot of similarities to Space Quest. New Space Quest might be possibility in the future * Gary Owens will be back for narrating. There will be other professional voice talent. * They have some inital backing, but yeah, its gonna be yet another Kickstarter. However, they're not jumping straight into it, but wait for a while and plan it (Probably a good thing since one studio didnt plan carefully and this happened. They haven't ruled out working with bigger studios though. And lot of other fun stuff. Like at the end they reveal there was going to be a brother for Sludge Vohaul, called Slash. I recommend listening to it. Last edited by TheChosen; 23-04-2012 at 10:01 PM. |

I don't overly mind them using Kickstarter, doubly so since they are going in with a real plan unlike some others at the moment that are just a pile of buzz words and nostalgia. I was doubly surprised to see them back since I knew about the infighting that had occurred at Sierra, including the third Guy for Space Quest 6 and what problems that led to. But this is a game I will be keeping two eyes on, and will be getting my hands all over.
Once again only Jim Walls getting to make another Police Quest would please me more...well and maybe another Quest for Glory. |

Said kickstarter is now live! http://www.tgakick.com/
Should we start a new topic about this? Maybe one that mentions "Space Quest" explicitly for people not familiar with the Andromedans? |

There's no reason to make two threads out of same subject. Plus Im pretty sure people who know either Space Quest know about the Two guys, and vise versa. Thats like saying fans of Civilization or Pirates! dont know they were made by Sid Meier.

If you have chrome or don't mind downloading it you can try out a demo of their game here http://guysfromandromeda.com/prototype-2-gogo/
As it says the game wont be related to chrome in anyway this is just a way of getting it out for people to play with fast. I am off to give it a go and then will post my thoughts. Edit: Okay I played with it for a bit, found 2 of the deaths out of three. Loved the humour in the text boxes, and death messages. They haven't lost any of their skills from Roger, cheap plug at the end but hey that is kinda what was to be expected really. Over all looking nice.
